Overview

Job Title:  Mechanical Installation Technician I        Department:  Field Services

Reports to:  Field Services Manger                            Location:  Remote


Summary:

 

S&H Systems is a single-source, full-service systems integration company delivering dependable material handling systems, software, and post-sale support since 2002. The field services department is responsible for the installation of all integrated systems at our client sites across the country.

 

We are seeking qualified candidates to assemble, install, dismantle, move, troubleshoot, and repair conveyor systems. Successful candidates will have experience reading blueprints and schematics as well as troubleshoot issues and perform preventative maintenance.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all projects are delivered on time according to requirements.
  • Perform routine work within technical area.
  • Install, dismantle, move, troubleshoot, and repair conveyor systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Utilize hand tools, levels, tape measures, etc.
  • Practice proper used of all company owned devices, email, computers, and web-based meetings.
  • Operate hammer drill and anchor equipment.
  • Helps other Mechanical Technicians and other trades as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Qualifications

Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills with other employees and clients.
  • Safety First Attitude.
  • Basic understanding of lockout/tagout.
  • Ability to be alert and know surroundings.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and proper tool and hardware ID.
  • Ability to read and use reference manuals.
  • Ability to follow basic instruction and have exceptional problem-solving skills.
  • Have a can-do attitude and eager to learn new skills.
  • Basic knowledge of conveyor vocabulary.
  • Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices, and performance standards.
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of conveyor operation and maintenance.

 

 Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years’ experience in material handling equipment or related field experience.
  • OSHA 30 Certification within 90 days of hiring.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to perform in a physically demanding work environment.
  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs.

 

Travel Requirement:

 

  • Must be willing to travel on short notice and spend up to 75% of the time traveling to client project sites.
  • Some travel on the weekends.
  • Must be willing to be on call and willing to work weekends and off shifts while at installation sites.
