Overview

 

 

This position will be responsible for all mechanical engineering efforts related to material handling systems execution of projects from Project Kickoff through Customer Acceptance and As Built development.  This role will require extensive collaboration with the Customer lead, Project and Site Management teams, and suppliers of equipment for integration.   This requires an expert understanding of MHE applications, integration requirements, and project execution tasks.

 

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Controls team for proper design and execution of systems.
  • Support Project and Site management teams in the execution of projects.
  • Successfully manage customer expectations.
  • Manage the engineering execution tasks to support successful projects.
  • Engage in design reviews with customers to finalize system layout
  • Responsible for requisitioning and delivery of all mechanical hardware required to execute a project.
  • Responsible for executing and tracking engineering deliverables
  • Responsible for installation instructions, prompt issue resolution, and forward collaboration with project installation teams.
  • Develop and maintain a working relationship with all project execution entities outside of engineering.
  • Maintain an accurate forecast of planned hours within the ERP system.
  • Travel as needed for customer site visits.
  • Control the system design to ensure proper application.
  • Control the system design to ensure customer usability.
  • Follow engineering design review best practices.

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Material Handling Engineering and Design.
  • Expert user in all OEM drawing tools.
  • Operational onsite experience in the implementation of projects.
  • Relevant experience in project management skillsets.
  • Comprehension of specific customer specifications.

Skills:

  • Relevant knowledge of controls engineering and its impact on mechanical design.
  • Able to design and notate controls devices on a mechanical drawing.
  • Must be able to manage priorities of multiple projects with competing timelines.
  • Manage the needed skillsets required for project execution.
  • Proficient in all available OEM tools.
  • Proficient user of all CAD tools and programs.
  • Able to create and understand flow and rate calculations including sorter throughput based on gap and product size.
  • Able to communicate effectively with:
    • S&H Operations Team
    • Procurement Team
    • Controls Team
    • Customer representatives
  • A comprehensive understanding of system integration requirements.
  • Able to understand the functionality of systems from a mechanical, controls, and operational perspective.
